Sauter AHB Hardness Test Blocks

The Sauter AHB comparison block sets support routine checks of analogue and digital Shore hardness testers between calibrations. Choose AHBA-01 with seven blocks for Shore A, or AHBD-01 with three blocks for Shore D.

Both sets are available with an optional calibration certificate issued by GNW Instrumentation. These blocks support comparison checks but do not replace calibration of the durometer.

Optional Calibration & Certification

Add an optional calibration certificate to document your instrument’s performance before use and support your quality records. Find out below what testing is included and what your certificate provides.

Who issues the certificate?	The calibration certificate is issued by GNW Instrumentation.
What testing is included?	Each block is measured at five different points using GNW's calibrated durometer for the appropriate Shore scale. The block rests on a flat, stable surface, and the durometer is used in a stand with the appropriate applied load. Readings are taken after three seconds.
What does the certificate report?	The certificate records the measured Shore hardness values for each block, together with the mean value, minimum, maximum and spread of readings. These results provide reference values for subsequent comparison checks.

FAQs

Which set do I need?

Choose AHBA-01 for an analogue or digital Shore A durometer. Choose AHBD-01 for a Shore D durometer.

What hardness values are included?

AHBA-01 contains approximate values of 30, 38, 52, 62, 69, 80 and 87 HA. AHBD-01 contains approximate values of 13, 28 and 91 HD.

Are the stated hardness values exact?

No. The values are approximate and can vary by production batch. Each set has a stated tolerance of up to ±2 units on its corresponding Shore scale.

Do these blocks replace calibration?

No. They are intended for routine comparison checks between calibrations and do not replace scheduled calibration of the durometer.
