Sauter TN-US Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Sauter TN-US Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

The Sauter TN-US is designed for more detailed ultrasonic thickness inspection where memory, scan measurement and finer readability are useful. It measures from one side of the component, making it well suited to pipes, tanks, sheet, castings and fabricated parts that cannot be checked mechanically with a micrometer.

Depending on the model, ranges extend to 80 mm, 230 mm or 300 mm, with a choice of 0.01 mm or 0.1 mm readability. Single-point mode is intended for individual readings, while scan mode takes ten measurements per second to help locate the thinnest point across an area.

Results can be organised in 20 files containing up to 100 readings each and transferred through the USB interface. Choose the model around the expected wall thickness, required readability and the probe best suited to the material and access available.

Applications

Metal Processing

Map remaining wall thickness along a pipe or vessel rather than relying on one isolated reading.

Oil and Gas Inspection

Check machined parts and fabricated sections when a micrometer cannot reach both sides.

Aerospace Engineering

Record repeat measurements at marked corrosion-monitoring points.

Shipping Industry

Compare thickness across sheet, castings or moulded components made from suitable materials.

Features

Ultrasonic Testing

The handheld gauge can be taken directly to installed pipework, tanks and fabricated components.

External Probe

A separate probe is easier to position on curved surfaces and around restricted access points.

Flexible Modes

Scan mode takes ten readings per second to help identify the thinnest point along a test area.

Data Handling

Store readings by job or component, then transfer them to a computer through USB.
