Precision, Analytical and Semi-Micro Laboratory Balances
Laboratory balances provide accurate measurement for scientific, pharmaceutical, educational and industrial applications. The GNW Instrumentation range includes precision, analytical and semi-micro balances from KERN, Ohaus and Adam Equipment, covering routine sample measurement through to highly sensitive laboratory procedures.
Precision balances combine fine readability with practical weighing capacities for sample preparation, formulation, parts counting, quality control and general laboratory work. Analytical balances commonly provide 0.0001 g or 0.1 mg readability and normally include a draught shield to reduce the influence of air movement around the weighing pan. Semi-micro balances provide still finer readability for specialist research, pharmaceutical development and carefully controlled analytical procedures.
The appropriate balance depends on the required readability, maximum capacity, sample size and operating environment. Adjustment method should also be considered: some models use an internal reference weight for manual or automatic adjustment, while others require adjustment using a suitable external test weight.
Depending on the model, available functions may include parts counting, percentage weighing, formulation, density determination, checkweighing and statistical analysis. RS-232, USB, Ethernet and formatted GLP/GMP output options can support connection to compatible printers, computers and laboratory data systems.
Calibration certificate options are available for laboratory balances supplied by GNW Instrumentation. Our team can help compare capacities, readabilities, adjustment methods, approved configurations and connectivity options when selecting equipment for a particular laboratory or quality procedure.
